In honor of the centennial anniversary of the signing of the Armistice of World War I, the City of Savannah presents

Remembering the Great War
an online exhibit telling the stories of soldiers and the items they carried with them. An extension of our physical exhibit, Remembering the Great War (on display through December 2018, Savannah City Hall Rotunda & Council Chamber), this online exhibit showcases even more fascinating loans received from our community this year.

Though not all the accounts in this exhibit are of citizens of Savannah, they were shared with the Municipal Archives by local Savannah-area residents. It is our goal to partner with these citizens to honor the legacy of their relative's service and sacrifice on this centennial occasion. Click on the headings above to read more.
